I Will Not Be Commenting On The Fact That Adam Rippon Wore A Harness To The Oscars
Source - Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon set the 2018 Oscars red carpet aflame. Wearing a deconstructed Moschino by Jeremy Scott suit with a black leather harness underneath.
Folks, I’m sorry, but I’m not going to talk about the harness. I won’t do it. I won’t say how it reminded me of Vito from the Sopranos, I won’t talk about the Folsom Street Fair, and I won’t talk about how his stylist should be fired. There’s no reason for me to describe my anxiety as I clicked through his Instagram story knowing how badly he was going to get ripped. People don’t want to hear about any of that just like they don’t want to hear about the intricacies of leather culture or that time I accidentally went to the Eagle when I was twenty. It’s not important to discuss the veiled symbology of him wearing a buckle harness as opposed to a bulldog harness. I don’t understand it anyway. Besides, that’s what gay Twitter is for.
What’s important is that Adam’s still around and he’s still making waves. He knows how to stay relevant. I wouldn’t be surprised if E! gives him Seacrest’s job next year. It seems like they want him out anyways. Guy didn’t even have a seat at the commentators table.
Sad. So if you have comments about Adam’s outfit keep them to yourself. Let’s not judge him based on one fashion faux pas. Stars take risks and that’s exactly what he did. Whether or not it worked depends on who you ask.
